You will have the opportunity to visit the modern Library of Alexandria, the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, the Amphitheater, the Citadel of Sultan Qaitbay, and Pompey’s Pillar.
Your private tour to Alexandria will begin with our guide picking you up from your hotel. Once in Alexandria, you'll first visit the Library of Alexandria, the largest library in the world today, housing 8 million books, where you can explore its open court and free museums. Following that, you'll see the site of the lighthouse, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, now located at the site of the Qaitbey Citadel. Explore the royal gardens of King Farouk, where you can see the royal palaces of Haramlek and Salamlek, along with the queens' beaches. King Farouk was the last king in history. In Egypt, make sure to visit the stunning and largest mosque in the city, Abbo Elabbas Mosque, as well as the Unknown Soldier monument in Alexandria and the statue of Alexander the Great. Optional lunch break. Continue to the Church of St. Mark, the oldest church in Africa, and take a 30 km drive along the Corniche to see the entire city of Alexandria. Starting from the coastline, including the ancient harbor of Alexandria where we discovered 7,000 underwater monuments, we made a brief stop at the renowned Stanley Bridge, a contemporary landmark of modern Alexandria. Explore the historic downtown of Alexandria and stroll through the old city center to experience the authentic essence of Alexandria, founded by Alexander the Great. Travel in comfort back to your hotel.
